Our Pastor

Pastor Doug Robertson was born and raised in Connecticut, residing in Goshen in the northwestern part of the state until he left to attend the University of Hartford when he was 18.

After attending a gospel preaching church near Goshen, he received Jesus Christ as his savior on August 21, 1994 just before his freshmen year of college.

In his junior year of school, he attended a mission work started by Kurt Lacapruccia in Hartford, Connecticut.  He then spent the summer of 1997 in Washington, D.C. for an internship at the American Enterprise Institute.  While in Washington, Doug attended New Testament Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland where Manuel Gregory is Pastor.  It was here that Doug was baptized and began to grow spiritually.  He attended Truth Baptist Church in South Windsor, Connecticut during his senior year of college.  Bim Rowley is the Pastor of Truth Baptist.

Feeling led by God to return to Washington to work in the public policy arena and become a faithful member of New Testament Baptist Church, but having no place to live or employment, Doug packed his car and left Connecticut, believing God would provide a job and a place to live.  He spent two months living at the prophets chamber of Wheaton Baptist Church until he was hired as an intern by the Grocery Manufacturers Association.  He then found a room for rent.

While at New Testament, Doug became the coordinator for the churchwide door knocking program which distributed thousands of church invitations across northeast Washington, D.C. and the Maryland suburbs. He joined the choir, sang special music, operated the sound system, preached at a nursing home ministry and created a church website.  In September 2000, Doug surrendered his life to do whatever the Lord would have him to do.  He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Pastoral Theology from the Open Bible Institute & Theological Seminary.

After meeting Jaime's family, her Dad's church and visiting Des Moines several times, Doug believed God was calling him to the midwest to start a church, but was not certain which city.  After much prayer, Pastor Robertson believes the Lord called him to Omaha in April, 2004 and, specifically, the west side of the city which is experiencing tremendous population growth.

Jaime Robertson
was born into a Christian home and recieved Christ at the age of four and was baptized at the age of seven.  She then surrendered her life to the Lord at the age of twelve.

Jaime's father, Jim Chamberlain, began his ministry as an assistant pastor in Des Moines, Iowa at Capital City Baptist Church when Jaime was six. About four years later, he took his first pastorate in a small town in eastern Iowa.  He then pastored Southtown Baptist Church in Des Moines from 1990 to 2007.

Church planting is not a new concept for Jaime as she worked alongside her father in two small churches. She has served in a variety of ministries including Sunday School, the bus ministry, children's church, soulwinning, and the music ministry. Jaime has been a church pianist since the age of 15 and began singing in church when she was 7. She has assisted in teaching church music and organized and directed a 4-part teen choir as well as children's choirs and plays.

After serving at New Testament for four years, Doug was introduced to Jaime by Dr. Lou Baldwin.  Dr. Baldwin is the pastor of the Crossoads Baptist Church which also sent Manuel Gregory to start New Testament.  Doug and Jaime met in November, 2001, were engaged on December 29, 2001 and married on March 23, 2002.  They then joined Crossroads Baptist Church where they served for over four years. They have resided in Omaha since July 2006. They have two children, Kent and Arielle.
